We are Phil and Kelly James of Aubrey, Texas. We are miniature cattle wranglers and curators of cuteness. The proud owners of Cowboy and Poppy, we are excited to share them with you!

our Story
In 2020 we moved from Broomfield, Colorado to Aubrey, Texas. Phil and I and our son, Jett, made the trek with two horses, three dogs and pure faith that God was planting us exactly where we were intended to be. Our daughter, Rylie, was a freshman at Abilene Christian, and the rest of our family was deeply rooted in Colorado. Within 18 months of making the move, much of our extended family joined us in North Texas. We like to say that we brought the whole traveling circus with us! In 2022 we were blessed to have our oldest daughter, Alea, and our first-born granddaughter, Luna, join us here in Aubrey. Our family has since grown! Rylie married her high school sweetheart, Micah, in June of 2024 and they blessed us with another granddaughter, Andi, in June of 2025. We are beyond lucky to have all of us, as well as my mom, living within 0.2 miles of one another. Texas has truly blessed us and we are grateful! In September of 2025, I found myself with an empty pasture. The kids had moved my barnyard buddies to their newly acquired property (virtually next door) and I simply could not bear it! On October 30th, we brought home Cowboy and Poppy, the cutest little cows in North Texas! We can't wait to share them with you!

Cowboy
What a gem this handsome little steer is! We affectionately refer to him as our mini mutt, as we do not know his genetic history at all. Cowboy was an orphaned calf that we were able to purchase from his rescue home for a whisper. His sole intent was to be a pasture companion for Poppy. He stole our hearts the moment we met and has proven to be the sweetest and happiest little moo! He was a bottle-fed baby which has translated nicely into a calf that thinks he's a human. He is approximately one year old. At 36" tall, Cowboy is certainly of the miniature cattle variety, and we believe him to be a White Park Cross. We adore him and know that you will too!
Poppy
When we set out to acquire a mini highland or two, Poppy is exactly what we had in mind. Not only is she a looker, but she is as gentle and kind as a little moo could possibly be! Poppy is a one-year-old miniature Highland heifer. She has a gentle disposition and has proven to be soft with even the most sensitive of human souls. She stands approximately 36" tall - the ideal height for maximum cuddling! She has the most adorable little horns coming in and she loves to strut them with just the right hairdo. Poppy will do just about anything for a treat. She is our pasture princess, a social butterfly and a total diva for the camera!
